Condition

The boots are in excellent overall condition. The black leather uppers are exceptionally well preserved, with no significant signs of wear visible on the exterior.

There are visible signs of wear to the soles, consistent with previous use. The interior remains in very good condition.

The sculptural heels show minor discoloration and light surface scratches, which are visible upon close inspection.

Overall, the boots have been very well preserved considering their age and rarity, with the main signs of previous wear limited to the soles and minor imperfections to the heels.

Collection History

Spine Heel boots were a part of the DSQUARED2 Fall/Winter 2010 collection in Milan. The collection used human anatomy as a recurring design reference, incorporating skeletal and anatomical elements into clothing and footwear. A rare archival DSQUARED2 find from one of the brand’s most distinctive collections of the early 2010s.

Designed by Dean and Dan Caten, the boots are made from black leather and feature a structured ankle-high upper with decorative faux lacing along the outer side. 

The combination of the relatively conventional leather ankle-boot upper with the anatomically shaped heel is characteristic of the FW2010 footwear collection. The model was produced in several variations during the season, including ankle boots and taller boots.
